The Dalwhinnie Whisky Distillery was a great place to stop in the Cairngorms, not very far off the main road to Edinburgh from the north. It was really traditional, and housed inside a strikingly white building.

As Scotland’s highest and coldest distillery, it produces some really excellent whisky. The chocolate they gave us was delicious, and I was surprised at how well the whisky went with the thick, creamy hot chocolate.

After learning about Scotland’s favourite drink at the Scotch Whisky Experience, it was nice to see a real working distillery. Unfortunately, I have no pictures from inside, as it wasn’t allowed (all the better reason for you to check it out yourself!). I highly recommend trying a taste of Dalwhinnie.
