Jasper National Park: Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
One of my favourite places to stop near the town is Fairmont’s Jasper Park Lodge. It’s surrounded by beautiful walking trails, and a lovely crystal clear lake. If you like golfing, this one has a beautiful mountain view.
The lodge itself is nice to check out, with a couple lovely places to dine, particularly on the balcony overlooking the lake. The cabins on the property are beautifully rustic and cozy, all with a mountain view or secluded in the trees.
On site, you can take a horseback mountain trail ride, which is fun for families or as a couple. Especially for people who don’t have much experience with horseback riding and are looking for a new and fun way to see the surrounding area. They even take you up the mountain and near the banks of the nearby river that flows.
At the lake, you can rent a canoe or a kayak for an hour, and get out and enjoy the fresh mountain breeze that comes off it. It’s a fun afternoon activity that’s quite relaxing. There are many other places to go kayaking or canoeing around Jasper, especially if you can supply your own.
