Amsterdam Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal

Schiphol, Amsterdam’s international airport, is modern and relatively easy to get around. I was rather impressed with their outdoor space inside security, as well as plug-ins and seating spaces to relax. There are plenty of shops and places to eat, or to grab a Heineken. From there, it is surprisingly easy and affordable to get into the city. If you have a long layover in Amsterdam, it’s worthwhile to get out and explore. After picking up your luggage, the train station is just a short walk away. For under five euros, you can buy a one-way ticket into Amsterdam (or back to Schiphol). It took us about 15 minutes to get to Amsterdam Centraal station. Centraal has many shops and restaurants too for any travellers who missed out at the Airport! We had lunch at De Dutch after arriving in Netherlands. They serve quite a few hearty sandwiches.Dutch sandwichDe DutchCentraal is a great starting point for any traveler in Amsterdam. The free ferry to Noord awaited us by the exit. Schiphol is a great airport, for both layovers and beginnings of journeys. From there, Europe (or just Amsterdam) can be yours!
