Visiting Keukenhof Gardens in Netherlands
After picking up our rental car and checking into Hilton Garden Inn in Leiden and a great nights sleep, we were off to Keukenhof! As our primary reason for visiting Netherlands when we did, it was so worthwhile. Arriving bright and early for opening, I was glad it wasn’t far from Leiden. There were already so many people, I was concerned at how crowded it would be. But as the day went on, it only got busier. Don’t be alarmed, there is more than enough room to explore for everyone. You can even manage to find your own quiet corner. 
We spent the whole morning there, strolling through all the garden paths, and we still didn’t hit every inch. Charge your camera battery! I couldn't take enough pictures of all the beautiful flowers. I fell in love with the hyacinths that were all in full bloom. They filled the air with the loveliest of natural perfumes. The tulips weren’t all out yet when we went at the beginning of April, but there were plenty of other varieties to enjoy.
There were even indoor greenhouse exhibits to see prize winning tulips, if that’s what you're looking for!
One of my favourite areas was filled with blossoming trees (it was so busy, it seemed as if it was everyone else’s favourite too). 
Even if you’ve been before, it’s worth heading back, as they change the exhibits year after year. You can see the pride and hard work that goes into creating the gardens. Right next door, you can find fields upon fields of tulips that the Dutch grow to send to market. They are so colourful, it almost doesn't look real. 
A really unique exhibit within Keukenhof was their trending gardens. It was truly inspiring to see ways you can make your garden or outdoor space more enjoyable! With so many different themes, there was a garden for everyone.
If you are ever in Netherlands in the spring, you can’t miss Keukenhof gardens. They even have day trips available from Amsterdam so you have no excuse!
