Hotel Ändra: Staying in Downtown Seattle
Welcome. Welcome is how I felt from the minute I walked through Hotel Ändra ’s doors. I believe it’s all in the details, and this hotel has really gone above and beyond on the little things. Everything from the automatic doors when the Valets aren’t there, to the cozy robes and slippers hung in the closet. Little pieces of inviting luxury are present everywhere.
Cozy beds and lighting. A beautiful view of the downtown street below. Minimally chic bathroom with enough shampoo and conditioner for this mane of mine was greatly appreciated. The walk-in closet was a wonderful and much-needed surprise for this high-maintenance traveller. The spacious room was a welcomed change from many downtown hotels that I’ve experienced.
Dining at Hotel Ändra: Lola Restaurant
During our stay, my friend Kay, The Awkward Traveller, and I ate at the adjoining restaurant for dinner, checked out the cooking school upstairs, and stopped in at the bakery across the street.
All three venues are ran by Tom Douglas, an outstanding Seattle-based chef and entrepreneur who specializes in Pacific Northwest cuisine. Hotel Ändra uses their food for their room service. I always love to try locally-inspired food wherever I go, so this was a perfect opportunity.
Hotel Ändra Room Service
Our breakfast-in-bed was both a feast for the eyes and our bellies. The service was personable and timely. It was honestly a dream come true, as I’ve always wanted to have a lux and relaxing breakfast in my room.
On our last day, my friend Kay and I headed down to the lobby for a while to enjoy the ambience of the hotel and snap a few pictures. I adored all the cozy touches, and felt right at home in this nordic/pacific northwest atmosphere.
I know I’ve been raving about the hotel itself, but the true pièce de résistance is it’s location. As a travel advisor, I always emphasize the importance of staying in a central location. It saves you so much time and headache of commuting in and out of the downtown area when sight-seeing. All the highlights in Seattle are within a thirty minute walk, but most are only 5 to 10 minutes away. And if you don’t like to walk, taking an Uber is a breeze.
If you’re ever in Seattle, I highly recommend staying at Hotel Ändra. You can check out their website here.
