Exploring Edmonton: Wandering Downtown YEG

Sometimes I really can’t believe that I’m a born and raised Edmontonian. For all the years I’ve lived around the city, I really haven’t spent much time exploring Edmonton.

These days, whenever I get the travel bug, I try to go downtown and wander. I used to complain far too much about what a boring city Edmonton is. And while the winter months may be long, there’s really no excuse to get out and see what Edmonton has to offer.

If you’ve missed any of my recent blogs, here are some other posts focused on exploring Edmonton:

Some new little spots I’ve discovered to be quite photo-worthy (or walk-worthy if you don’t always have a camera in your hand like I do) are the Promenade and the outside of the Shaw Conference Centre.

I mean, look at these views:

Maybe Edmonton doesn’t have enough things to do to last a lifetime like London or NYC, but I do believe it is a missed tourist opportunity for those who’ve never heard about the City of Champions (And yes that is our unofficial slogan).

Are there any other scenic places I should check out in Edmonton?
