A Place to Eat in Banff

Heading to lunch at the Tavern, walking the streets of Banff, Alberta.

My sister Julianna and I on our most recent trip to Banff tried this little restaurant for lunch called The Bear Street Tavern.

The Bear Street Tavern in Banff, Alberta

We were supposed to go to the Bison right next door, but didn’t realize they share the same entrance and one is just up the stairs. I will have to make a trip back just to try it, as it is rated extremely well, and looks like a lovely authentically Canadian restaurant.

Getting my soup and sandwich at the Tavern

The Tavern was delicious though, and had a rustic mountain feel. Both places had patios, but the air was cool, so inside we went. I had the Ham & Swiss Cheese with the Soup of the Day and Julianna had The Confit Turkey Club with the Caesar salad.

Both were served with delightful dipping sauces and each sandwich was deliciously satisfying. Even though we weren’t in the mood for it, pizza is their specialty. The pizza at the table next to us looked scrumptious! It’s the kind of pizza that’s great for someone who likes Italian style and doesn’t want the Pizza Hut special. I would highly recommend this place for a quick bite, or a slow-paced afternoon out with friends!
