The Best Poutine in the Canadian Rockies
From the title of this post, you might be wary that I’m exaggerating. But I can assure you, I most definitely am not. As renowned Poutine lover and self-proclaimed expert, I am here to tell you about the best poutine in the Canadian Rocky Mountains (possibly the whole of Alberta).
Proud of my country’s stereotypes, I don’t mind if you find this post a-moose-ing. If you are ever in Canmore, just east of Banff National Park, take a drive downtown (I promise you’ll enjoy it, there’s so much to see there!). Whatever you do - you must stop for lunch at the Grizzly Paw Brewing Company.
It not only has fantastic beer, but delicious Canadian fare. The beer I will speak highly of: as a lover of a good dark brew, they make a few tasty ones. Try the sampler, you won’t regret it! I’ve also heard they make a mean soda. But that is not their crowning glory.
The poutine there is so satisfying, you’ll be begging for more, and wish you hadn’t bothered ordering a main dish (although they’re pretty good too). It’s gravied to the graviest, and has just the right amount of cheese curds for a perfect french fry to curd ratio. You’ll have to ignore your diet for a moment. Now excuse me, I’m off to stuff my face with another bowl of the best poutine ever.
