The National Museum of Scotland

Literally coming off the high of Arthurs Seat, we set off to find the National Museum of Scotland. Derek and I didn’t know what to expect, but we were thoroughly impressed by this museum. Although we didn't have very long there, we managed to see quite a lot. The building itself was pretty, and the newest addition of the History of Scotland was so well done.Scotlands National MuseumIt is one of Great Britains free museums, so I highly recommend just stopping in, at least for a visit to the exhibit on Scotland. It’s so insightful into Scotland’s past, present, and future.Scotland quotesThe Lewis ChessmanScotland weavingThere is really an overwhelming fountain of knowledge there, so reading ahead and checking out the highlights are encouraged. If you are still unsure, they offer a few free guided tours daily. Apart from the History of Scotland, the animal exhibit also really enticed us. The multi-story display is so enthralling.Animal museumWe spent three hours in total there, and we could have spent quite a few more; they practically had to drag us out when the museum was closing. The National Museum of Scotland is possibly one of the best museums I have ever been to, I hope you make time to go if you are ever in Edinburgh!
